Back when a new Rails update would drop, pulling down the latest version from Rails from its svn repo would take just a few clicks.

I’ve been sitting on an svn update of the latest stable Rails release for a good 10+ minutes now.
I know some fine tech folks are on top of this so it couldn’t just be poor server management. Rails has gotten popular, and popular fast!
Sadly, I fear the competitive advantage for startups using RoR is dwindling… now that it’s becoming more mainstream and popular to develop greenfield apps in RoR.
When I talk to random non-techies, more and more they know about Rails and want to do something with it, or at least get my take on whether or not “it can scale.” (Heh. Everyone thinks they are going to build the next Facebook.)
