Wow. Wow. Wow. Congratulations to the creator of The Million Dollar Homepage - who just surpassed $200,000 in ad/pixel sales!

The Million Dollar Homepage is one of those ideas like the pet rock, when, after you see it, almost everyone thinks “Why didn’t I think of that!?!”

I’ve got to hand it to its creator for having the foresight and ability to bring out the press on this idea. Not to mention the new, new media (bloggers, etcs).

He’s even got a pretty decent case study up if you’d like to see how your “ad” might perform.

What do you think about these new web sites selling pixels? I’ve just put mine online at Bloc de pub, in french, and i’m trying to promote it on the Web. And I also make it cheaper, only 10 euros for a bloc of 10×10 pixels, to allow more people to advertise on it (like blogs or personnal web site). I just think 100$ for a bloc (what the other sites are doing) is quite expensive for an individual who has his own personnal web site !
Do you think this can of web site can last for a long time or it’s juste a temporary web site ?

Well, it seams that you are now well over $800,000 Alex. You are almost there. I only heard about your quest recently, and in the spirit of things, started a site http://www.400thousanddollarhomepage.com . This is not a billboard only, but a more expanded version with catagories, and resources. And as the name implies, I only seeks to reach a goal of $ 400,000. Soon you will reach your goal, and hopefully, I mine.
