A friend sent me a link to this site, Grouper, which appears to be some kind of P2P meets social networking application.

“Share personal files directly with your friends…Privately.” - sounds like a way to sidestep getting sued by the RIAA from being on Kazaa and the like.

Of course, your selection will be limited to whatever your friends have.
