Anyone want a cheap used PowerBook G4 ?

Monday, November 24th, 2003

A friend at work is looking to unload her 4 month old PowerBook G4. This is a $3000+ machine that she’s looking to unload for ~$2000. Drop me a line if you know anyone who’s looking for one of these bad boys.

Los Angeles aint the solution, baby

Sunday, November 23rd, 2003

i keep meeting these chicks that think moving to Los Angeles is the solution to all their problems. sorry ladies, you gotta figure that stuff out on your own before you expect a city to just change you like that. let’s be real, 80% of who you are (low-balling it here) was determined by factors that were out of your control in the first place. moving to a different city isn’t gonna solve any of your problems. i know, i have proof. (if you are Erin from Boston and somehow stumbled upon this blog, you are by no means included in the above category, even though you want to move here. you are way too perfect to have any problems, except for that one obligatory fault that’s really a compliment in disguise.)

Drunk Friendster’ing

Sunday, November 23rd, 2003

We’ve all heard of drunk-dialing and drunk-emailing..

I predict that the next big thing is going to be drunk Friendster’ing…

You know, looking up some old girlfriend when you’re drunk and sending her a Friendster request. Bad idea.

Good Karma

Saturday, November 22nd, 2003

I may be a nihilist, but I believe in karma. That may technically disqualify me from nihilism-statushood but who really cares anyway?

If you have some nagging bad karma in the back of your mind, I recommend setting things straight. Every time I’ve set the record straight by apologizing, paying past debts, etc., I always feel so much better afterwards. Usually the person on the receiving end is so shocked that they don’t even care about whatever the issue was anymore. They just can’t believe that anyone would actually go out of their way to set things straight like that.

In the words of my friend Yelva, “all you have in this world is your balls and your word.” Nicely put babe.

Friday, November 21st, 2003

fellas - have you ever gotten some one night when you were wearing a certain cologne, and you’re like, “well one night I got some when I was wearing Tommy… and Armani just hasn’t been working for me so well.” yeah, guys, you know you do this, just admit it.

tonight I’m tryin out the Armani again… I think it worked well last time but I don’t remember so well ;) I’m in LA, you know how that goes

but I had some good times wearin’ the Tommy.. just reminds me too much of my high-school/college days.

Madonna - Hollywood lyrics

Friday, November 21st, 2003

Everybody comes to Hollywood
They wanna make it in the neighborhood
They like the smell of it in Hollywood
How could it hurt you when it looks so good

[Chorus:]

Shine your light now
This time it’s gotta be good
You get it right now
‘Cause you’re in Hollywood

There’s something in the air in Hollywood
The sun is shining like you knew it would
You’re ridin’ in your car in Hollywood
You got the top down and it feels so good

I lost my memory in Hollywood
I’ve had a million visions, bad and good
There’s something in the air in Hollywood
I tried to leave it but I never could

[chorus]

There’s something in the air in Hollywood
I’ve lost my reputation, bad and good
You’re ridin’ in your car in Hollywood
You got the top down and it feels so good

Music stations always play the same songs
I’m bored with the concept of right and wrong

Everybody comes to Hollywood
They wanna make it in the neighborhood
They like the smell of it in Hollywood
How could it hurt you when it looks so good

[chorus]

‘Cause you’re in Hollywood
‘Cause you’re in Hollywood
In Hollywood [repeat three times]

Check it out, this bird has flown

[chorus]%

The name “Shanti”, which means peace in Sankrit by the way, in a troubling, earth-shattering upset, failed to crack the Top 100. Maybe next decade…
